Dr. Lucas is an Interventional Pain and Sports Medicine specialist. He brings unique expertise and experience in minimally invasive and non-operative treatment strategies for painful conditions of the spine and extremities to Accelerate Health. He has particular clinical and research interest in the use of orthobiologics, including cellular therapies (stem cells), for the management of orthopedic conditions and sports injuries and has published several manuscripts on this topic. Dr. Lucas is actively involved in the Interventional Orthobiologics Foundation (IOF) where he has served as both a clinical instructor for advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound and chaired the IOF Ethics Committee. He has served on the board of the Denver Osteopathic Foundation and is an associate clinical teaching faculty at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Lucas is a Colorado native and a Colorado State University alum where he received his undergraduate in Sports Medicine and later received his Medical Degree from Rocky Vista University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete his Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. He then completed additional Fellowship training in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine with an emphasis on Regenerative Orthopedics at the Centeno Schultz Clinic in Broomfield, CO.
